The theory of the Big Bang as the origin of what exists or the probability of life on other planets, activated the debate between science and religion. The guest will share their ideas on scientific research and faith, which in its opinion can be peaceful and contribute to building a more inclusive world.
José Gabriel Funes, a graduate in Astronomy at the National University of Cordoba and Philosophy from the University of Salvador, BA in theology from the Gregorian University in Rome and a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Padua, Italy. In 2000 he enters the Vatican Astronomical Observatory as a researcher and director between 2006 and 2015. It specializes in extragalactic astronomy. His research includes the kinematics and dynamics of disk galaxies, star formation in the local universe and the relationship between the gravitational interaction and galactic activity.
